Transgender Awareness Week is November 13–19, and we’d like to highlight Nate, one of our certified nursing assistants, who bravely shared his incredible story of finding his truth. |
At BMC, we are proud to celebrate the work being done at our Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery and to honor our transgender and gender non-conforming community. |

At BMC, we are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint because we know that healthier hospitals mean healthier communities. By generating much of our own electricity, committing to efficient buildings and machines, investing in solar power, and establishing the first hospital-based rooftop farm, we plan to be able to thrive well into the future and continue to serve our community in the face of any potential climate disaster. |

As the weather gets colder and we all spend more time indoors, it’s important to be aware of how you can help keep yourself and your loved ones from getting sick. "Unfortunately, this year it’s looking like we may have a substantial number of influenza cases," said BMC infectious disease expert Dr. Sabrina Assoumou. |
If you have symptoms of these viruses, please call us first - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also visit bmc.org/urgentcare for more information. Getting vaccinated is still your best defense against serious illness, and BMC is hosting several upcoming flu and COVID vaccination events. |

This time of year, many of us gather with family and friends to break bread and celebrate the things we are grateful for in life. At BMC, we are thankful for our community and the opportunity to serve our patients. |
By growing 5,000 pounds of fresh produce per year, our rooftop farm assists in ensuring food equity amongst our community members. We also support patients and families experiencing nutrition-related illness or food insecurity. The Food Pantry provides nutritious, culturally and medically appropriate food to patients who are referred to the Pantry by BMC primary care providers. |

Last month, we celebrated nearly 900 employees who reached milestone work anniversaries, from five years to 45 years! In true BMC style, there was much dancing – along with food, laughter, and all-around fun at this memorable event. Thank you to all our dedicated staff for their years of service providing exceptional care within our community. We couldn’t be BMC without their hard work and commitment to our mission. |
