Food as Medicine: Celebrating the Opening of Nubian Markets
Recently, BMC celebrated the grand opening of Nubian Markets with Ismail Samad and Yusuf Yassin, BMC community partners and co-founders of the market. Nubian Markets, located at 2565 Washington Street in Roxbury's Nubian Square, is the realization of the vision for a
Black-owned market, cafe, halal butchery, and community gathering space that is inspired by the food of the African diaspora and sourced through trade routes based in equity. We are proud to be a partner of Nubian Markets through a $1.9M zero-interest loan and other philanthropic support, and we're excited to work together to continue to improve the wellness of our communities.
Please help us support the Nubian Markets by paying them a visit and shopping all of their wonderful foods and products!
