Boston Medical Center Logo

Hello, and welcome to Your BMC.

You are an important part of our community, and we are here to help you be your healthiest self. This newsletter features important information about services and programs, tips for healthy living, stories from around BMC, and more.

March is Women’s History Month

We strive to celebrate women every day at BMC and make women's equality a priority across the hospital. In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, which was on March 8, some of our women leaders share how we embrace equity at BMC.

Multiple Sclerosis Care at Boston Medical Center

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month

Did you know that an estimated 200 new cases of multiple sclerosis (MS) are diagnosed each week in the United States? For MS Awareness Month, we’d like to tell you more about our MS Center.

BMC’s MS Center is an accredited Center for Comprehensive MS Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Partners in MS Care program. Our team of MS experts is committed to helping people with MS live their best possible lives by delivering personalized care that addresses a patient’s holistic needs.

BMC Voices: 10 Years Ago, He Helped Treat Victims of the Marathon Bombing, Now He’s Running for Team BMC

On April 15, 2013, Frederick Powell, MD, then a resident at BMC, had his experience put to the test in ways that few residents could fathom — responding to the Boston Marathon bombing. Two years later, Powell was not feeling well and soon found himself in the BMC emergency room, having a heart attack at just 33 years old.

“It’s because of the excellent care that I received at BMC that I’m still here today.”

Driven by his experience as a BMC resident responding to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and by the care he received as a BMC patient, Frederick Powell, MD, is set to tackle the 2023 Boston Marathon with Team BMC.
